what ethically sourced materials are used to manufacture my product?

your exercise mat is made using 100% sustainable Portuguese cork and biodegradable natural Malaysian tree rubber which are adhered together using advanced thermal bonding machinery. No toxic glues or adhesives? No problem. On the other hand, in order to manufacture your accessories we only use cork. That's it.

our Portuguese cork is made using the stripped bark of cork oak (Quercus suber) meaning no trees are cut down to produce it. It then takes between 9 to 12 years to fully redevelop, consuming progressively more carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere with each successive cycle of bark regeneration.

our natural tree rubber is sourced from Malaysian plantations of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis), a tree indigenous to South America. Rubber tapping is a method we use which involves making small incisions into the bark and inserting a tap for collecting the sap into vessels attached to the rubber trees. This process is not damaging for the rubber tree and producing sap is its natural regenerative process, making it a highly sustainable and renewable resource.

how do I take care of my product?

cork and natural rubber is very easy to clean! Gently wipe down with a damp, soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Use either cold water or a solution made of a mixture of cold water and natural soap. Avoid using any cleaning products containing essential oils or harsh chemicals that may cause damage to your product. Once clean, allow to air dry. Store in a cool, dry place avoiding sun exposure. Please remember to roll up your exercise mat with the cork side facing outwards.

how long will my product last?

unfortunately there is no simple answer to this question. This completely depends on how frequently you use your product, what you use it for, and how well you take care of it. For example, an ogi who practices Bikram yoga or pilates six days a week but does not follow our care instructions will most likely find signs of wear and tear sooner than an ogi who practices vinyasa yoga three days a week and follows our care instructions.

rest assured, there is a reason why cork is such a versatile material for industrial and consumer applications, because it is one of the most resilient and durable naturally occuring substances on the planet. What does this mean? Your product is also extremely resilient and durable.

how is my product packaged?

we are not like other brands who deliver their products wrapped in unnecessary plastic or packaging. Being part of the ogi community is knowing we're not contributing to non-biodegradable landfill. What does this mean? Your yoga mat will arrive wrapped in biodegradable cornstarch packaging inside its cotton canvas carry bag, your yoga block wrapped in recycled paper, and your massage balls housed in their very own bag made of 100% cotton.

is my product vegan?

yes! Your entire nest is manufactured without the use of a single animal product nor brought any harm to our furry friends during production. Pretty cool, huh?

is my product detailed using eco-friendly ink?

when we say no PVC or other harsh chemicals, we mean it. Your product's ink is water-based which serves as a great alternative to plastisol ink, providing just as much durability and quality in the design.

HELP! My product appears to have some discoloration and slight imperfections! Is this normal?

from one ogi to another, I just want to reassure you that this is a totally normal thing to be expected. The cork we use for all your products has been carefully selected and processed. Please be mindful that cork is a natural material with its own natural variations and slight imperfections, including soft texture differences and subtle colour irregularities. This means that each piece is extremely unique.

will my product become slippery when I sweat?

quite the opposite! Did you know that cork naturally contains a waxy, rubbery-textured substance called suberin which is released with moisture build-up? This creates an extremely grippy surface during your sweatiest workouts.

will my product begin to smell from general use?

the wonderful thing about cork is that it has natural antimicrobial properties. These suppress the growth of bacteria and fungi that accompany the buildup of perspiration during physical activity, ultimately preventing unpleasant odors.

does my product provide adequate cushioning for supporting my weak joints?

the traditional yoga mat ranges from three to four millimeters in thickness. Through trial and error, we have found that slightly increasing this thickness to four and a half milimeters enables those seeking extra support to practice restorative styles of yoga more comfortably. At the same time, we ensured that these changes would not compromise ones stability during more active, balanced, or focused poses.

the extremely flexible, honeycomb-like cellular structure of cork means that our accessories also provide a highly durable, yet lightweight and forgiving surface that can easily adapt to variations in pressure (such as a shift in body weight). This makes them perfectly suited for those requiring extra cushioning during their practice.

can I use both sides of my exercise mat?

absolutely! We welcome ogies to take full advantage of the eco-friendly, dual-grip combination provided by their exercise mats. Keep in mind that the thick-grooved, natural rubber base is designed to enhance your exercise mat's grip on flat surfaces. Because of this, we recommend using your Pilates reformer mat in a convential manner with the cork side facing upwards. This is so that the rubber base will prevent it from slipping off the reformer whilst you can make the most of the cork's sweat-resistant, antimicrobial properties.

previous ogies have also claimed that using the cork side as the base of their yoga mat can be beneficial for outdoor, early morning practice. This is because, 1) you are more likely to practice on an irregular surface that a natural rubber base won't grip onto as effectively (e.g. grass), and 2) it may take you longer to warm up which may prolong the release of a waxy, moisture-reacting substance called suberin within cork that gives it its grippy properties.

is my cork yoga mat suitable for all yoga styles?

your eco-friendly, dual-grip cork yoga mat is truly versatile. From holding an extended supine spinal twist during yin or restorative yoga, to pushing yourself into a standing bow pose during a sweaty Bikram class; your mat will prove to be the ultimate companion for any style of yoga practice. We made sure of this by combining a thick-grooved natural rubber base with a layer of ethically sourced, antimicrobrial cork to create a four and a half millimeter thick mat designed for proper stability and cushioning.

can I send an order as a gift?

sounds like you have a special someone who you think should join the ogi movement with you; a gift order is the perfect way to get them involved! Upon checkout, set their address as the shipping address, and your own as the billing address. All products are delivered in their own plastic-free, beautifully unique custom packaging. We won't include any invoices inside your parcel, instead, reciepts are sent directly to your own email address. "how about a handwritten message?" - we've got you covered. When you place an item in your cart you will be given an opportunity to enter a short, special message for your lucky recipient. We'll handwrite it on a small kraft paper card and add it to your order. It's that easy!

unable to customise your nest with your favourite style and now you have to wait a little longer to show it off at your next studio class? I've received my Tree-Gift! Why can't I choose which tree species I plant and where to plant it?

Tree-Nation plants over 300 different tree species across 96 reforestation projects around the world. It is in everyone's best interest for Tree-Nation to carefully select which trees to plant according to the specific benefits they offer for the environment and local population. Tree-Nation assigns each tree its own unique URL meaning the species, the conservation project, the planting location information and the carbon dioxide compensation values are accessible for ogies to track throughout the lifetime of the tree.

what is "pre-order"?

have you got your heart set on a particular style but it's out of stock? You can submit a pre-order and we will put your order in the priority delivery list before they've arrived at our warehouse. This allows ogies to secure their dream product so that they can be repping it at their local studio before anyone else! Everyone loves a trendsetter ;)

can I place my first yoga mat order as a guest without subscribing for my free jute carry strap?

you can absolutely place an order as a guest with no obligation to subscribe to the ogi movement mailing list. We do recommend that you do subscribe, however, if you're someone who likes to save time and money and stay up to date with our new releases, discounts and giveaways!

this is automatically sent to your email adress when you place an order. If you haven't received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please do not hesitate to email us directly at hello@oginest.com or message us using the contact form in case there's a problem with your order. Before contacting us, ensure that your order confirmation has not been diverted to your mailbox's spam or junk folder, as this does happen occassionally.

why has my order been delayed?

unfortunately, life doesn't always go as planned and for whatever reason your parcel may be delayed. Because this is an issue on our couriers' end, we are no longer in control of your delivery or any extended processing times. Sendle and Australia Post provide excellent customer service and they suggest first checking their parcel tracking page (Sendle) / parcel tracking page (Australia Post) prior to getting in touch (Sendle) / getting in touch (Australia Post) for further support.

why has my order been canceled?

on the rare occasion that we cancel your order it is typically due to a problem with stock, or if you've asked us to cancel, provided your request is submitted before we have shipped your order. Please accept our apologies if your order is canceled because of a problem on our end. We'll always offer an alternative product or process your refund in full as quickly as possible.

how do I cancel my order?

there is only a short window between the time you place your order and the time we ship it! Please email us directly at hello@oginest.com or message us using our contact form as soon as possible and we may be able to cancel your order or find an alternative solution! If it has already been despatched, then you can apply for an exchange or a full refund if you still wish to upon recieving it within 30 days.

can I change my order details?

oops, is your product being delivered to your neighbour due to a misclick? We can definitely help modify this for you :) Provided your order has not already been shipped, please send us the new details by emailing hello@oginest.com or by using our contact form and we can change this over for you pronto!

PLEASE NOTE: unfortunately, Sendle does not offer a redirection option once the parcel is in transit to its destination. Click here to find out why. Because of this, we're unable to modify your order details at this stage. It is absolutely crucial that you provide us with the correct address as we are unable to retrieve it once it is in transit.

can I track my order?

one hundred percent! In your delivery confirmation email you'll receive a tracking reference number which you can use in Sendle's parcel tracking page / Australia Post's tracking page to check the progress of your order.

how long will it take for my order to be delivered?

the eager ogies really stand out, don't they?! Orders are shipped from the Gold Coast, QLD, Australia. Depending on your location within Australia, shipping can take anywhere between 2-14 business days. For a more detailed estimate, please refer to Sendle's instant postage calculator / Australia Post's instant postage calculator. my order has still not been delivered... was it lost in transit?

that's not good! Firstly, please refer to Sendle's parcel tracking page / Australia Post's parcel tracking page to check the progress of your order timeline. Sometimes life doesn't quite go to plan and Sendle or Australia Post may not be able to deliver within their 2-14 business days estimated timeframe. When this happens, they will update your tracking number with an expected 'delayed' delivery date. If your order still hasn't been delivered within 30 days please do not hesitate to email us immediately at hello@oginest.com or message us using the contact form and we will launch an investigation with Sendle or Australia Post.

how long does it take for my full refund/exchange to be processed?

this partially depends on the carrier or shipping method that you choose when returning your product. Upon receiving your order, you will have 30 days from the delivery date to contact us to initiate the return of that product and place it in the post. Once it is received on our end, we'll notify you by email. We aim to process refunds within 3 days after receiving them at our warehouse. Depending on your bank or credit card provider, it can take several days for them to process the refund into your account, or onto your card. 

for product exchanges, we request that you email us with the style that you would like instead when you are initiating the return of your current product. Once it is received on our end, we will inspect it and notify you by email of our decision on whether it follows our return policy. If it is cleared then we will ship your new product by Sendle or Australia Post.
